My name is Emmi and I am a recent graduate from the one and only Curtin University. I have studied there for the last 3 years and now have myself a nice piece of paper that can back up my claim that I have a Bachelor of Design. In my second year of university I got the travel bug and decided to do an exchange semester in Amsterdam, because why not. I spent six months learning the strategy side of design thinking and building my skills in a way that streamlines the problem solving process and enables me to think outside the box. I not only learnt educational lessons, but also those about life and the world around us, and I really think that this experience adds to my perspective within the creative field.
I can say with confidence that I am able to proficiently use the Adobe suite (although somehow my scratch disks are still always full) as well as Microsoft and some online website builders. My other skills include design strategy and research, customised outcomes and understanding the target market. I also have a feminine flair that I like to bring through all of my designs that you will see showcased throughout my portfolio! Even though these things may be important, I want you to know that I also bring a kick-ass personality and a great sense of humour to the table, but am also someone you can rely on and will always bring my hard work ethic and positive attitude to the office.
Now that that’s over and done with, I’m really excited to enter the industry and not only get hands-on experience, but also to learn and collaborate with like-minded people. At this point in my life I am finding it really important to do work that I am passionate about and can reflect this passion in my work.
